Historic pIONEER sCHOOL HOUsE
Roadside view of the building.
The historic pioneer schoolhouse was originally constructed in 1915. It was a two-story wood building intended as the first school in Anchorage. After surviving the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake, it was moved to it's current site and a third story was added to the bottom. The later structural retrofit of the building was completed by PND, Daniel's company, in the 90's. (That's not information you needed, but I thought it was interesting.) The building is situated on a small dedicated park with a couple homestead cabins.
